Game Preparation of Poker

How to Play it?

Poker UK

On your way to a poker game, do you drive on an interstate highway? Is the traffic vicious? Does driving demand all of your energy and attention? If these problems in driving are true for you, then you need to make some mental adjustments when you arrive at the poker place. To have to focus all your attention on the job of driving means that you can't use that time for preparation for the game.
Advanced game preparation has a direct impact on one's win percentage and total amount won for the year. Remember to take some time to review your game strategy. Here are just a few things to go over in your mind.

Starting Hands

Remind yourself of which cards you can play where. In fixed position games, this job is just a tad easier. Remind yourself to play only premium hands in early position. Be cautious with marginal hands except in late position in upraised pots. Review which hands you can call with when a raise is made.
In stud games where position can fluctuate each betting round, position is just as important for calls or raises with marginal hands. Big hands often play themselves, but big hands are few and far between. It is the marginal hands that cause problems but also offer good opportunities for profit. However, marginal hands cannot (repeat, cannot) be played indiscriminately. To call with a low pair and moderate kicker in early position in a Seven Card Stud game is not smart. Whatever your game, think about which hands you can play from all the positions.

Visualize

I certainly don't claim to understand the mystical parts of a card game, but I am a believer in the value of visualizing. I picture myself winning a pot, catching great starting hands that improve to win the pot in uk poker. I then engage in a bit of fantasy where I am involved in a huge pot and the dealer is pushing it to me. In my opinion, visualizing is a vital part of booking a win. Please don't ask me why it works. I just do it and it appears to make something positive happen. Try it.

Learn Every Hand

This hand with Glenna illustrates that we can learn something from every hand we play. When we stay alert, when we watch patterns and habits, we can indeed learn something every hand. Some good players keep a written log or journal of what regular and/or dominant players do in certain situations. That way they can refresh themselves about how a certain person plays. They can also note when one of them, like Glenna, makes a change and does something different.

Plan A New Move

We should all be in the process of developing new plays. Taking a few moments for game prep is an ideal time to think up a new method of playing a certain hand. Think also about certain plays for situations that tend to repeat. Plan different tactics for these situations.
In almost all locations, you will be playing with a certain number of regular players. It is a good idea to review what you know about as many of these regular players as possible. If you can't get a fix on individual players, think about certain classes of players. Some recreational player’s play a lot alike. Analyze how these people play and what is the best way to counter.

Relax

Perhaps the most profitable technique of all is to work on relaxation. Lower your shoulders, take a few deep breaths, Know that you are a good player. Convince yourself that a bad beat or two is not going to set you. You know that the cards will come and your good hands will holdem. Expect it you will find it will work just the way you want it to.
