Card Money

When you have the best of it, make them pay to draw at you. Don't give them free cards Ancient Norwegian Proverb Ted started with 3-4-5 off suit in low limit High/Low Split, Seven Card Stud (8 or better for low). He caught an eight on Fourth Street. A man showing a six-ace checked and Ted checked along. Three other players who started with low cards had caught paints. The hand was checked around and everyone got a free card. Ted now caught a six and the ace-six got a jack. This man checked, Ted checked, everyone checked! Two free cards! Card Money

Dealer Rules

At the outset of a poker session, players should decide whether to play several games or one game throughout the night. If you play various games, it is the “dealer’s choice” as to what game will be played. If playing dealer’s choice, the dealer decides what game will be played and also if there will be any wild cards. The dealer should call out the action as it happens. When dealing a stud game, it is customary to call out what has been dealt. Dealer Rules

Learn Every Hand

This hand with Glenna illustrates that we can learn something from every hand we play. When we stay alert, when we watch patterns and habits, we can indeed learn something every hand. Some good players keep a written log or journal of what regular and/or dominant players do in certain situations. That way they can refresh themselves about how a certain person plays. They can also note when one of them, like Glenna, makes a change and does something different.

Particularly on the last round your position in at the table is of great importance in determining your course of action. For instance, a bet is made and you have a doubtful call. If there is anyone back of you who is likely to rise, it is pretty good policy to drop. Conversely, if there is no one in back of you, you can afford to call. High Low

Holdem Poker

Good turns are cards that fit with your hand. If you play a six-five and the flop is four, three, two, you are now looking right at a sure thing. Of course, someone may draw out on you, but you can't have everything in life.
The man to the left has to bet first on every round. The dealer bets last and therefore has a great advantage. Of course, the deal rotates, but remember to play tighter as first bettor and looser as last. Holdem Poker

Poker Preparation

On your way to a game, do you drive on an interstate highway? Is the traffic vicious? Does driving demand all of your energy and attention? If these problems in driving are true for you, then you need to make some mental adjustments when you arrive at the poker place. To have to focus all your attention on the job of driving means that you can't use that time for preparation for the game. Poker Preparation

Poker Money

One possibility is to take the cash immediately to the casino cage. Some casinos have safe deposit boxes; with others you can just deposit it as in a bank and get a receipt to draw on it later. A security guard will escort you if you ask. If you're staying in the hotel, you can also take your cash to the registration desk and ask them to put it in the safe. Poker Money
